The Truth About the 1 Day Acuvue Contact Lens

For the last three years I’ve been wearing the 1 Day Acuvue Contact Lens.  Now I’ve been wearing contacts for about thirty years so contacts aren’t new to me.  But a 1 day lens was a new idea.  Frankly, I thought it was crazy.  The whole idea of throwing contacts away after only wearing them one day made no sense to me.  But I went along with the eye doctor and I learned.  See, fresh lenses every day and no maintenance has some real advantages.  Here are a few…

Fresh lenses every day give you that new lens vision every day.  Over time contacts just get dirty.  It may be from actual dirt or built up of proteins or other stuff, but older lenses don’t give you the same vision as perfectly clean, new lenses.  Fresh lenses give sharp vision.  There’s this too…

No cleaning.  That means no chemicals to buy and keep up with.  It also means no time spent on cleaning, disinfecting and all the other maintenance that usually goes along with wearing contacts.  Between the chemicals and the time saved, that may be a quite large saving.  Clean, fresh lenses do more too…

Because dirty lenses and lots of handling may lead to eye irritation or worse.  Eye infections arise from those dirty lenses too.  With fresh clean lenses every day, there’s much less chance of any eye infection.  What’s that worth?  Maybe quite a lot if you develop eye problems.

So it’s just a lot more convenient and much less trouble if you use 1 Day contacts compared to lenses you wear longer.

Then there’s the comfort issue too.  Now I’ve worn both the 1 Day models, but not every other Acuvue lens.  I can say based on my experience that these are the most comfortable lenses I’ve used.  I know the lenses are high in moisture.  In fact, they are mostly water.  But, I’m not sure just why they feel comfortable for long days.  The Moist version seems to be even better on my dry eyes.

The advantages of the 1 Day lenses come with a price.  If you wear contacts every day, you’ll use a lot of lenses.  Then again, maybe you don’t wear contacts every day.  In either case, the lenses actually cost less per lens than the one or two week lenses.  It’s just that you use more lenses.  The higher cost for the lenses is offset some since you don’t need any kinds of chemicals and that’s a savings.

The 1 Day Acuvue Contact Lens is just right for my needs.  You wear new lenses every day and don’t have to ever clean and disinfect lenses.  That makes it a lot more convenient and less trouble.  The extra cost of lenses is somewhat offset since you don’t need all the chemicals.

The Truth About the One Day Acuvue

The One Day Acuvue isn’t for everybody.  It’s one of those contacts that you just use one day and then throw it away.  I’ve been wearing these for about three years and have been surprised at how well they’ve done.  Here are reasons you may not like them and then some reasons why you might.

Here’s one thing you’ll notice right away.  These are expensive.  It’s not that each lens is high priced.  That’s not so.  It’s that you have to have so many… if you use them every day.  That’s why the cost really adds up, you just use so many.  There’s a trick to the cost though.

The trick is there is no maintenance to these contacts.  See, there’s no cleaning, no disinfecting, no enzyme treatment, no nothing.  And all those chemical costs really add up.  So you have to balance out the cost of the contacts against the savings from no chemicals.  There are other savings too.

Time.  No cleaning and maintenance means less time spent working on contacts.  That’s not a lot of time, but it’s just one more thing to do.  With the 1 Day Acuvue, you just toss the lenses every day and that’s that.  Spend that time on something else.

The real plus to me has been more than just the convenience of these lenses.  These contacts are a joy to use.  You’re wearing brand new contacts every day.  They’re comfortable to wear all day.  The Moist version especially also works great if you have dry eyes like I do.

One Day Acuvue contacts aren’t the cheapest lenses you can get.  But since you know longer must do all that cleaning and maintenance, there isn’t a great deal of difference in the cost.  With the added convenience of a disposable lens, you get that like-new contacts feel all the time.  That’s what I really like.

Johnson and Johnson Contacts Are Acuvue

Johnson and Johnson contacts are the Acuvue brand.  That’s what I’ve used for the last two years.  Acuvue makes many models for different purposes.  That includes color lenses plus contracts for astigmatism and bifocals even.  The two models I’ve used are both 1 Day Acuvue disposables.  Here’s my experience…

Comfort is what I’ve noticed about both the 1 Day models.  When I say comfort, I mean you can wear the contacts for hours without a problem.  Plus you don’t get that irritated feeling, like something is in your eye.  At first i had the regular Acuvue and I thought it was the best contact I had used.  I’m a thirty year contact lens wearer!

Then the last time I went for an eye exam, the eye doctor suggested the Acuvue Moist which is the other 1 Day lens.  I tried it and it seems even easier to wear.  I was surprised.  It felt comfortable for even longer than the regular 1 Day.  Apparently the lens holds it’s moisture even better.  Since the lens doesn’t dry out quickly, it won’t pull moisture from the surface of your eyes.  That’s why it works well for anyone who has dry eyes, like me.

Those disposable lenses seemed like a real waste at first.  You know, throwing away brand new contacts every day.  that’s tough.  Here’s the thing, having new contacts every day is a real plus.  There’s the comfort issue for one.  But there’s more.  You don’t need any chemicals now.  No cleaners, no disinfecting fluid, no enzymes… no chemicals required.  That’s a saving in money and time too.

Having always clean contacts is one way to avoid eye irritations and infections too.  With disposable lenses, the risk of eye problems is reduced.  That’s a real plus too.

The Johnson and Johnson contacts I’ve use are the 1 Day Acuvue contacts.  These lenses are comfortable and as easy to care for as could be.  That’s why I think they are the best contacts I’ve used.

Acuvue Contacts — Tips From A User

Acuvue contacts come in all kids of models for many kinds of vision issues.  Maybe you want an eye color change, which you can get with color contacts.  Then you can get the lenses to correct most any eye problem.  The ones I’ve personally used are the two 1 Day Acuvue models.  Here’s what I like about the 1 Day lenses.

1.  Since you change lenses every day, you always have fresh lenses.  That’s one reason why these lenses are known for comfort.

2. Fresh lenses also mean less handling of lenses.  That way there’s less chance of eye irritation or eye infection.  Less handling of the lenses means less risk.

3. Fewer hassles with cleaning.  There’s no cleaning and no disinfecting either.  So no chemicals to buy and no time spent on all that either.

4. The time savings is a real plus.  No minutes spent every day maintaining lenses.  Need a lens?  Just grab a new one and there you go.

5. The Moist version is especially right for those of us with dry eyes.  The lens stays moist so it doesn’t pull moisture from the surface of your eyes.

Those are pluses.  The only downside I see is cost.  They do cost a bit more than one or two week lenses, but not much more.  The extra cost is somewhat offset by the savings on chemicals.

Acuvue contacts are what I’ve worn for the last 3 years.  I’ve had the regular 1 Day and the 1 Day Moist.  I like both, but the Moist version really seems to help with dry eyes.

Acuvue Contact Lenses — My Story

Acuview contact lenses have been what I’ve used for the last three years.  Wearing contacts is nothing new for me.  I’m a thirty year contacts wearer and my glasses are the thick kind.  So, I like contacts.  Here’s what surprised me.

The eye doctor prescribed the 1 Day Acuvue.  That’s the ones you just wear for one day.  I thought at first that wearing contacts for just one day and then tossing them was crazy.  Seems like a big waste to a penny-pincher like me.  How could it make any sense to pitch almost brand new lenses.  After all, years ago, I would use the same lenses for about a year.  Big difference…

Here’s what I found though.  Sure, these Acuvue lenses cost more.  But then again, you no longer have to buy all those chemicals.  No disinfecting, no cleaning, no enzymes, none of that.  You just get fresh lenses from sterile containers every time you need a lens.

That saves a lot of money, but there’s more.  There’s the time savings since there’s not nearly as much time spent with all that lens handling and maintenance.  That’s worth quite a lot.

There’s more too.  Eye irritations and even eye infections are often related to dirty lenses and lens handling.  There’s much less chance of either of those if you’re always wearing fresh lenses.  Those fresh lenses are just handled once when you put them in and they’re never cleaned.  So these Acuvues are a great way to protect your eyes and avoid problems.

Acuview contact lenses surprised me.  The initial cost seems higher, but there are several savings that you may not see at first.  That makes them worth a closer look if you need new lenses.

Acuvue makes all kinds of contacts, not just the one day wear kind. Especially if you have dry eyes you may want to check out their selection. Get more details about the Acuview Contact Lenses at our website. Learn how to buy discount contact lenses by visiting http://BuyCheapContactLenses.com.
