Your Eyes: Some Interesting Facts About Your Eyes

Your eyesight is crucial and one of the most important organs in your body.  Most people are always concerned about their health but don’t really understand how the body functions as a whole.  The older I get, the more important I know my health is so I was doing some research on the computer and found some interesting facts about your eyes that I would like to share.

Your eyes:

*  Are the most complex organs you possess except for your brain.

*  Are composed of more than two million working parts.

*  Can process 36,000 bits of information every hour.

*  Under the right conditions, can discern the light of a candle at a distance of 14 miles.

*  Contribute towards 85% of your total knowledge.

*  Utilize 65% of all the pathways to the brain.

*  Can instantaneously set in motion hundreds of muscles and organs in your body.

*  In a normal life-span, will bring you almost 24 million images of the world around you.

*  The external muscles that move the eyes are the strongest muscles in the human body for the job that they have to do. They are 100 times more powerful than they need to be.

*  The adult eyeball measures about 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter. Of its total surface area only one-sixth is exposed — the front portion.

*  The eye is the only part of the human body that can function at 100% ability at any moment, day or night, without rest. Your eyelids need rest, the external muscles of your eyes need rest, the lubrication of your eyes requires replenishment, but your eyes themselves “never” need rest. But please rest them!

*  Eyes are your most precious sense… care for them properly!

Your eyesight is just as important as any other organ in your body.  Care for them properly and they will always remain in good health.  Those are just a few of some interesting facts about your eyes.

Here are some more interesting facts about your eyes. You can improve your eyesight naturally so take good care of those precious organs. Learn how at http://www.eyesightvisioncure.com.

The Importance of Eyesight and the Effects It Can Cause Once It Is Loss

Have you ever taken a moment just to consider the importance of eyesight and the effects it can cause once it is loss?  I know that the majority of us take life for granted and never consider the possibilities of what it would be like if our eyesight was compromised.

I recently did some research and learned some very interesting facts about our eyes.

*  The number one cause of blindness in adults in the United States is diabetes.

*  Of all the muscles in our body, the eye muscles are the most active.

*  The muscles that move the eye are the strongest in the body.

*  Your eyes will never wear out.

*  Your eyes are always the same size from birth, but your nose and ears never stop growing.

Have you ever considered what would happen if you were to lose your eyesight!  You would no longer be able to drive the car or watch a movie.  Attending a play or sporting event that your child is participating in would be hard to enjoy.  You could hear what was going on but you would no longer see the event itself.  I don’t think a lot of people seriously consider what would happen should we no longer have our eyesight.

Dwelling on what might or might not happen is no way to live either.  Being in the present moment and only thinking about what is taking place in the here and now is the way we all should learn how to live.  But that doesn’t mean you can’t take better care of yourself and prevent your eyesight from failing.  Just by incorporating some simple and easy eye exercises into your day can help tremendously.

Stress is the main cause for most health problems and that includes your eyesight.  Learn how to lower your stress levels and you will be able to live a long, healthy and happier life.
