How To Improve Eyesight Naturally
Have you ever heard the term, “eyes are the windows to the soul”? Not only are they the windows to our soul, but they are also the windows to view the outside world. Our eyes help us see things, read, work and even communicate. They are a very delicate part of our body though and they also need plenty of rest.
Have you ever thought that you could improve eyesight naturally? Were you aware that you can improve eyesight just by changing a few habits? We are much harder on our eyes then we think. If we were to take the time to learn and practice some relaxation exercises, we could start seeing more clearly. Some people think that just because they have worn glasses for years or have some type of eye disease that they can’t learn to improve their eyesight naturally. It depends on how severe the eye disease is, but under normal circumstances, your eyesight can improve.
The main causes for poor eyesight are stress and strain. We are all born with relatively good eyesight. We start learning bad habits throughout our school years. Like sitting in a classroom staring at the blackboard, our books or papers. This causes strain on our eyes which leaves them tired and stressed. There is little to no time between classes where we can relax the eyes and give them the rest they require. Because we learn these habits at such a young age, they are carried over into our adult lives. From there we do the same things at work staring at our computers, working on paperwork or stressing over a deadline.
Are you aware of the signals your body relays when you need rest? For instance when you spend too much time doing household chores and your back starts to hurt. The same goes for the eyes. Like when your head starts to hurt or your eyes start to burn. Those are the signals that it’s time to take a break. If you are able, lie down and just relax for a few minutes. If you aren’t able to lie down, find a quiet place to relax your mind and close your eyes. They need to be re-energized.
We can all prevent poor eyesight. If we take the steps today and develop the necessary habits that will improve our eyesight, we will be better off for the rest of our lives.

Improving Eyesight: 3 Exercises for the Eyes
Some of the main causes for poor eyesight are staring and straining. These are common occurrences that our eyes undergo on a daily basis; usually after a long day at work. Our eyes get tired and need to relax just like our bodies. The constant strain on your eyes daily does nothing but damage the eyes. For improving eyesight, below are three exercises designed to remove eye strain.
1. Dot Exercise:
This is a simple exercise that requires nothing but focusing on a dot located on a page. Stare at the dot until it comes into focus. Usually after just a few seconds, the dot actually becomes less clear and blurry. Now try relaxing your eyes by closing them for a minute. Now try looking at the dot again without straining your eyes. Don’t stare at it; instead let your eyes wander around the page glancing frequently over the dot. Your eyes need movement instead of just staring at the object. Make sure that you blink from time to time. Now try closing your eyes and visualizing the dot and then open your eyes and look at it again. Once your eyes are relaxed, it will be much easier to see the dot.
2. Word Exercise:
This exercise is similar to the dot exercise. You want to find a word that contains at least five or more letters. Look at the word so that all the letters are in view, but don’t move your eyes. Focus until you get the best image in your head. We’ve already learned that when you stare and focus hard, it will cause the word to become less clear and blurry. Now try relaxing your eyes and start moving your eyes slowly around and over each letter. Don’t forget to blink. Just let your eyes lead you and don’t force them. When you look at the word again, it should be clearer. By letting your eyes move around instead of just straining on the word works best.
3. Double Vision Exercise:
The purpose of this exercise is to get your eyes to work collectively as a team. Most people focus one eye to look at an object while the other eye is wandering all around. Although squinting can help bring an object into focus using both eyes, it also causes additional stress. They key is to relax your eyes and calmly focus on the object which will then allow both eyes to focus together.
Improving your eyesight is possible by learning exercises that will help you develop lasting habits. This will only continue to improve your eyesight for years to come.

Improving Eyesight Naturally Through Relaxation
Relaxation reduces stress and assists the body in quieting down and resting more thoroughly. This is why it’s so important to your overall health. Relaxation alleviates uninvited tension and contributes to an overall good feeling. Relaxation also assists the eyes in seeing more clearly and focusing much better.
The most difficult part of relaxing is quieting the mind. Your thoughts are constantly racing through your mind. You may think that shutting down your mind at this point is impossible, but it is. The trick is to shift all that energy that is in the head down through the entire body and out the feet. I know this may sound somewhat strange, but it actually works. It’s a process known as ‘exhaling through the feet’.
It works like this. You lay on your back in a dark room. Most people prefer doing this right before bed. Then you want to imagine your breath traveling from your lungs moving through your entire body. As you breath out, visualize the air moving down to your toes. Picture your breath making its way through every single organ in your body. Now exhale completely until you have no more air in your lungs. Let the next breath come to your naturally. Breath in again, not forcing anything, and let your body naturally do all the work. Once your lungs are full once more, start the entire process all over again visualizing the air moving through your body.
Repeat this method as many times as possible until you fall asleep. When you wake up the next morning, you should feel relaxed and refreshed, ready to face another day. A good night’s sleep is crucial in reducing stress and strain. I know you’ve heard that getting at least eight hours of restful sleep each night is vitally important to good health. This is especially true when it comes to your eyes. Plenty of sleep will start the day out right and in a favorable mind frame. We will have a much more productive and happy day.
Improving eyesight naturally through relaxation is very important. Learning good relaxation techniques will help falling to sleep come more naturally. Your eyes, as well as your body, will thank you.

Eye Exercises To Improve Vision
Your vision is an invaluable tool that you use all day, everyday: From moving around the house, to driving, to playing sports, to reading, to writing, to watching TV, to working a job, to cooking, to cleaning, etc. This list goes on an on. An entire book could probably be written about all the things one uses their eyesight for! Unknown to many, though, a person who normally wears corrective lenses (i.e. glasses or contacts) can do a series of simple eye exercises to improve vision in a natural, safe, and effective way.
Right now, billions of people in the world rely on corrective lenses for them to function in their everyday lives. But wearing glasses does not correct the problem at the source; it just masks it. The problem actually comes from within and around the eye, and with proper care and exercise, one can bring their eyesight back to normal by performing eye exercises to improve vision.
Our eyes are muscles just like every other muscle in the body and need proper training and exercise to stay fit and healthy. So with some simple eye exercises to improve vision, it is definitely possible for a person who is nearsighted, farsighted, or astigmatic to see clearly again without glasses or contacts.
Now, don’t get me wrong, glasses are a wonderful invention. They make millions of people see clearly who would otherwise be seeing blurrily. But glasses are the easy way out. When someone realizes they cannot see clearly, they go to the eye doctor, get a prescription for glasses or contacts, and out they go, all in the matter of a day. Quick and easy and they can see fine once more. But again, they are not solving the problem at the source. Just a person with a strained hamstring must rehab their leg to bring it back to full functionality, a person who wears corrective lenses should perform simple eye exercises to improve vision naturally and safely.
Here is a short list of some proven eye exercises to improve vision:
- Palming
- Eye Circles
- Eye Massage
- Focusing techniques

- Obtaining a reduced prescription
So as you can see, there are many eye exercises to improve vision, and they DO work!

How to Improve Your Eyesight Naturally
Is it really possible to improve your eyesight naturally without going through surgery, or without using eyeglasses or contact lenses? The idea that you can improve your eyesight naturally through relaxation and by performing eye exercises originated from Dr. William Horatio Bates (December 23, 1860 – July 10, 1931). He was an ophthalmologist that developed a method that claims to help improve eyesight naturally called the Bates Method.
The basis of the Bates Method for improving eyesight naturally is to improve vision by undoing the strains and stress that’s constantly placed on our eyes. However, the effectiveness of the Bastes method is questionable and scientific studies contradict his theory. Despite this, there are still many who have tried the Bates method at improving their eyesight, and some claim that they have been able to improve their eyesight naturally.
The Bates method approach to improve eyesight naturally is to correct vision problems that are based on psychological principles. Dr. Bates claims that he has treated many patients, and helped his patients improve their vision naturally. In 1920, he published his work “Perfect Sight Without Glasses”.
The Bates Method focuses on complete relaxation of the mind and body to reduce and eliminate the strains and stress placed on your eyes and eye muscles. One of the main eye exercises used by the Bates Method is the palming exercise. Palming involves completely relaxing your body and covering your eyes with your palms to completely block out all lights.
Another key focus of the Bates Method to improve eyesight naturally is visualization – by relaxing and visualizing pleasant mental images, Bates believed that relaxing was the key to the clarity of the visualized image, as well as actual sight. Dr. Bates claimed that with eyes closed, the darker the black was in your mind, and the smaller the area of black which was visualized, the more relaxed you became.
There are also numerous eye exercises designed to help you relax your eyes and eye muscles such as eye focus exercises, eye rotating exercises, and eye swinging exercises just to name a few. All of these eye exercises are meant to help you relax your eyes and eye muscles, reducing the strain and stress placed on your eyes.
